Ozzy in the studio

Ozzy Osbourne's myspace posted a new blog this morning....

OZZY OSBOURNE is currently in the studio in Los Angeles co-producing his 10th studio album with Kevin Churko. The new CD is the rock & roll legend’s follow-up to 2007’s Black Rain which debuted in the Top Ten on the album charts in 11 countries and spawned OZZY’s first ever #1 active rock track, “I Don’t Wanna Stop” (which also sat atop the Heritage Rock chart for more than 20 weeks). The two-time Grammy Award winner has decided that he will not be touring until he has a new album in-stores (currently projected to be Thanksgiving 2009). Thus, OZZY has decided to put his namesake festival OZZFEST on hold this year. In the meantime, if you need an OZZY fix you can watch him with Sharon, Kelly and Jack on the “first family of rock’s” return to television. THE OSBOURNES: RELOADED is set to launch this spring on Fox TV. Stay tuned for more information THE OSBOURNES: RELOADED and the new OZZY OSBOURNE album.

  • Longer we wait, better it will be :) I really hope that he'll pass by France for the next tour. If not, I'll see him in London or Belgium, whatever !
I can't wait for the next album, I hope that it will be as good as Black rain :)

  • gimpnoid... thanksgiving here in the states is supposed to celebrate the coming together of the native indians and the pilgrims from england back in the 1600s... the natives and the colonists broke bread and gave thanks...

you can read a pretty good history about it here...

today family and friends get together to eat traditional holiday meals of turkey, ham, potatoes, yams and pumpkin pie for dessert... watch a ball game or two...

the thanksgiving holiday, like christmas, is really commercialized here... most people have a four day weekend for it... traffic is always bad... the biggest shopping day of the year is the day after thanksgiving, known as black friday... a good time to stay home...

  • Is anyone else familiar with producer Kevin Churko? I'm not too much a big fan of his, actually not at all. His history pretty pathetic in my opinion and doesn't have any big or major albums to his name. He's produced a variety of albums from country to rock, but that doesn't necessarily make him an expert on specific genres of music such as rock or metal.
I'm kind of disappointed that Ozzy is going back to him to make the next album. I've heard that Churko is calm, easy to work with and through ideas out so maybe that's why Ozzy's going back, but is that really worth sacrificing the quality of the album?
Honestly, I wasn't too happy with the way Black Rain turned out. I think Ozzy has the potential to make another great album before he's done. After all, he's even got Guitar God Zakk Wylde by his side to do it, but I doubt it will happen with new age producer Churko.
Ozzy get someone who knows what he's doing!!
  • wow, couldn't disagree with that last comment more. Black Rain is an amazingly mature album from a musical standpoint imho. there are some totally incredible sounds on it. as for me, i think it is incredible.
